Each of the 12 jurors is a unique person |
Taking place in one room where the characters stay throughout the movie, while arguing the fate of a boy suspected of murdering his father, 12 Angry Men enables the viewer to look deeply into each one's personality. And despite the limited gamut of locations, the film manages to be both visually stunning and extremely entertaining, with each of its scenes being exceptionally well constructed. [...]
It is beautifully depicted, how each of the 12 jurors is a unique person, and how their backstories and life contexts are reflected on their different views and opinions on the case. Also, how each one has something different to add, based on their past experiences.
The movie, shows how easily one can accept what is handed to them as the truth, without even thinking why. How self-absorbed one can be, to be unwilling to contribute a minimal amount of time to ponder the destiny of a fellow human being. And how one's predefined concepts about people can influence not only their decisions, but their mere willingness to put thought into those decisions.
It is interesting to see that the person that is the most sure about something, may just be the one who is the most based on emotion. And how one might have strongly ingrained in his personality, just the thing he most criticizes in others.
Above all, it can be summarized as an incredibly real feeling movie. The script is finely written, giving a sense of real people, who actually exist outside of the context of the film, not to mention the solidity of the murder case, and the way the evidence is pieced together. That is added to the flawlessly natural acting, truly consolidating its believability.
